#MeetTheScientist Hello! My name is Madison Burns, and I am currently a senior biomedical science and enterprise major at Georgia State University, with minors in non-profit leadership and educational psychology. My research focuses on creating a hands-on dental training program designed to expose prospective dental students to essential biomedical science concepts, such as dental anatomy, biomaterials, and microbiology. The program offers supervised practice with basic dental instruments, and I am evaluating its impact on students' learning outcomes. Specifically, I am exploring how interactive, tool-based learning influences students’ understanding of dental anatomy and biomaterials, as well as how hands-on experiences impact their confidence, proficiency, and basic dental skills.
